Sarah Goodridge’s Beauty Revealed
The kisses on my lips have been torn off me
By an imperial indecision
Not by Madness nor Impulse
Not by God or Fissure of Time
One cannot give love to a person
With a heartbeat
That love will deteriorate with false dream,
Doubt, distance
The debris is in the wind &
I have given away my love to a ghost
And, afterwards,
I slept poorly
